How the chart is counted
The weekly chart ranks films and series by unique downloaders, the way a box office chart ranks them by gross.
What a downloader is
A downloader is one IP address that downloaded a title at least once in the week. Each address is counted once per title, however many times it downloaded it. Figures are measured by PiracyIntel.
A measured sample
The figures are what PiracyIntel measured, not whole-swarm totals. The true number of people who pirated a title is higher. Because every title is measured the same way, the figures can be compared with each other and from week to week.
The week
A chart week runs from Monday 00:00 to Sunday 23:59, UTC. The chart is published on Monday.
Films and series
- Films
- All releases and versions of a film are counted together.
- Series
- A series is counted for the season with the most downloaders that week, and named with that season.
- Last week and movement
- "New" means the title was not in last week's top 50.
Countries
Country is taken from the IP address. A share is the country's downloaders divided by all downloaders that week. Addresses with no known country count towards the total but are not listed.
Studios, networks and artwork
Studios, networks, posters and backdrops come from TMDB. This product uses the TMDB API but is not endorsed or certified by TMDB.
Days without data
Days without data are shown as gaps in the daily charts. They are not filled in or estimated.
